A Science Enrichment Program was conducted for students of Class VIII and IX by a few scientists from TIFR and BARC. The sessions were held on 5th, 19th and 26th November, 2022 in 2 batches each day. The session started with an Introductory lecture on Science Topics - The Language of Chemistry, Indian Atomic Energy Program. The students were divided into batches of 8 to 10 and were conducting experiments on the topics - Optics, Magentism, Microscope, Acid Base Reactions and Archimedes Principle. The students had an enriching hands-on session.
Dr Ritu Wadhwa, a professor and HOD at Dr DY Patil School of Ayurved, Nerul, Navi Mumbai addressed the 7th std students on 29/7/2022 on the topic Ayurved and Students' Health. Dr. Wadhwa gave the students some tips and advices on how to keep the body and mind fit and how it helps in excelling in academics. She suggested the food to take and also avoid as per the seasons and time of the day. The students interacted with the speaker and posed a lot of queries in the Question-Answer session that followed
To generate Cyber Hygiene Awareness among the students, a talk was arranged for the students of Class X on 14/10/2022 on the topic - Cyber Safety Awareness. Mr. M K Stanley, System Administrator, BARC was invited to address the students and educate them on the topic. He spoke about How to become Digitally Responsible Citizens and emphasized on the Do's and Dont's on the various networking and communication devices like Mobile, Laptop, etc.
Dental hygiene plays an important role in the overall health of an individual. The students of Class V were made aware of the importance of oral health and hygiene by a group of doctors from BARC Dental Dept. The interactive session enlightened the young learners on various aspects of dental care and the need to practice good oral hygiene.
