29th Aug, the Birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, is celebrated all over India as National Sports Day. We at AECS 5 commemorated the day by paying tribute to that great soul who put India in the spot light by winning 3 Gold Medals in the Olympics. In the special assembly conducted, the students were briefed about the great sports legend. Interesting anecdotes related to him were shared with the students so that they are inspired to imbibe his qualities of determination, hard work and perseverance. The day was celebrated by organising a special run in which the students of Class X participated. The run was flagged off by our principal madam.
The school level, M. R Pai English Elocution competition was conducted on 4th November 2019.
The results are as follows:
1. Sakshi Kiran Kate - Class IX - 1st Prize – Cash prize of Rs. 1250
2. Neeharika S - Class IX - 2nd Prize – Cash prize of Rs. 1000
3. Navya Jose - Class IX - 3rd Prize – Cash prize of Rs. 750
Ms Sakshi Kiran Kate will represent the school in the semi-finals which will be held in the first week of January.
The Hindi Pakhwada was observed in the school from 16th Sep to 19th Sep 2019. The teachers participated in competitions such as Essay Writing, Poetry Writing, Grammar Translation, Slogan writing, Poster making and Hindi Typing conducted for the staff at All India Level.
The school level Science, Maths and Social Science Exhibition was held on 29th June 2019. Shri Venkanna, Principal, AECS-2 inaugurated the Exhibition and wished the students well. Projects on various topics were displayed on the occasion. Almost 50% of our students put up their projects. The best projects represented the school at the All India Inter AECS Science, Maths and Social Science Exhibition held at AECS 1 Hyderabad on 19th to 21st August 2019.
In line with the call of United Nations, International Yoga day was observed in the school on 21 June 2019. The day kicked off by some live demonstrations by our PE teachers Shri Anil Jadhav and Smt Snehal Parab. The students and teachers performed different yogasanas and made the day meaningful doing some deep breathing and coordinated movements.
The investiture ceremony of our school was conducted on 29th April, 2019. Shri. Kiran Sonawane, Chief Security Officer, BARC was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The students were invested with ranks and made them a part of the school administration. This not only helps in the smooth functioning of the school but also prepares them to be better equipped to face the challenges of the world.
